Important information

The retrofit kit is only for use within the dealership organisation.

In cars prior to 03/02 with a Wave radio, it is also necessary to install an aerial adapter cable.

Do not kink or damage the cables during the installation work since otherwise they may cause faults that can later only be identified by extensive additional work. The costs incurred as a result of this will not be reimbursed.

This system does not require coding

Target group

The target group for these installation instructions is specialist personnel trained on MINI cars with specialist knowledge of vehicle electrical systems.

Work:

All servicing, repair and installation work on MINI cars is completed at your own risk.

All work is to be carried out using current MINI repair manuals and circuit diagrams in a rational order using the prescribed tools (special tools) and observing current health and safety regulations.

3.To connect the CD changer adapter cable (only in cars with a CD changer)

Check the correct position when inserting the CD changer plug in the car (1) into branch A1, See the adjacent illustration.

Push shrink hose (2) over branch A1.

Connect the CD changer plug in the car (1) to branch A1 and secure with shrink hose (2).

Connect branch A2 to branch B2.

4.To connect the power supply/loudspeaker adapter cable

Connect branch B1 to the car radio plug X18126.

Connect branch B2 to the Boost radio.

5.To connect the aerial adapter cable (only cars prior to 03/02 with Wave radio)

Connect the coaxial plug C1 of the aerial adapter cable to the standard aerial cable (1).

Connect the FAKRA plug C2 to the Boost radio.

6.Concluding work

  • Connect battery
  • Conduct a brief test
  • Conduct a function test
  • Assemble the car following the instructions to dismantle it in reverse order
