The installation times are approx. 0.5 hours for one front seat and one hour for the rear seat. The installation times may vary depending on condition of the car and the equipment in it.

The retrofit kit is only for use within the dealership organisation.

Installation information

The BMW Group cannot accept any liability for damage caused by a failure to follow the work and safety instructions set out in these installation instructions. In addition all warranty claims against

the BMW Group will be rendered void if you install and handle the product in a way other than as set out in the installation instructions and supplementary owner’s handbook.

Ensure that cables and lines are not kinked or damaged as you install them and that they do not interfere with the freedom of movement of other vehicle components.

The installation of the protective cover for the front seats is shown for the left-hand seat. Proceed in the same way for the right-hand seat.

Target group

The target group for these installation instructions is specialist staff trained on MINI cars.

Work:

All servicing, repair and installation work on MINI cars is completed at your own risk.

All work is to be carried out using current MINI repair manuals in a rational order using the prescribed tools (special tools) and observing current health and safety regulations.

[1] Pull the protective cover C on the headrest (1) and adjust it to the contours. Close the Velcro fasteners (2).

Release the rear seat trim (1) at the top and push it to the rear out of the way.

Place the protective cover A on the seat surface.

Pull the rear end (2) of the protective cover A backwards between the backrest (3) and the seat surface and secure it under the seat with straps.

Pull the front side straps (1) through the holes (2) on both sides of the seat frame and secure them under the seat.

Thread the rear side straps (3) between the seat frame and the seat trim using a wire and secure them under the seat.

Align the protective cover and secure the remaining front straps (4) under the seat.

Pull the protective cover B on to the backrest and adjust it using the headrest mountings (1).Pull the bottom end (2) of the protective cover B between the backrest and the seat surface towards the rear.

Ensure that the locking openings (1) are not covered by the protective cover B or the rubber bands (2).

Close the buckle (3) on the protective cover B. Tension the straps (2) tightly.

Secure the rear seat trim (4) again.

6.To install the protective cover for the rear seat

Pull the protective cover J on the headrest (1) and adjust it to the contours. Close the Velcro fastener (2).

Proceed in the same way for the other headrest.

Pull the ISOFIX covers (1) out of the seat bench (2).

Ensure that the locking openings (1) are not covered by the protective cover G or the rubber bands (2).

Pull the protective cover G on to the seat bench and adjust it to the contours.

Secure the rubber bands (2) on the rear seat bench frame.

Tie the rubber bands (3) from the belt recess tightly to the corresponding sections on the protective cover G.

Align the recesses (1) in the protective cover G with the openings (2) in the ISOFIX mountings. Press the ISOFIX covers back into the openings (2).

Pull the protective cover H on to the left backrest and adjust it to the contours.

The recesses in the protective cover H must be lined up with the backrest locks in the backrest (1).

Place the lug (2) under the rear section of the protective cover H press it against the Velcro fastener (3).

Fit the protective cover I in the same way on the righthand backrest section.

7.Concluding work

– Assemble the car again following the instructions to dismantle it in reverse order.
