Connecting retrofit cable

Route branches A5-A10 of the retrofit cable A along the vehicle wiring harness on the left door sill into the footwell on the driver’s side.

Route branches A5 and A6 of the retrofit cable A along the standard wiring harness to the fuse holder on the passenger side and secure with cable ties E.

Connect branch A5, cable colour BR, to earth post X2042.

If terminal 8 (1) on fuse holder X10016 is already occupied, remove the socket contact

from branch A6 and connect branch A6 to the cable from pin 8 with miniature connector K.

Insert branch A6, cable colour red, in fuse holder X10016, Pin 8.

Insert fusible link L into slot 8.

If a fusible element is already present in slot 8, it must be replaced by fusible element L.

6.

If the cable colours do not match, the pin assignment must be observed.

Route branches A7-A10 to radio plug X13646

Disconnect AUX cable (1) from connector X13649, black 12-pin, and connect to black 3-pin socket casing G with following pin assignments.

WS/BR cable from Pin 10 to Pin 1

WS/BL cable from Pin 4 to Pin 2

WS/RT or WS/GE cable from Pin 3 to Pin 3

Connect socket casing G to branch A10 (black 3-pin socket casing)

Connect branches A7-A9 to plug X13649 as follows:

Branch A7, white cable, to PIN 10

Branch A8, yellow cable, to PIN 3

Branch A9, black cable, to PIN 4

Interlock connector X13649 and insert in connector X13646.

Connect branch A1, black 12-pin socket casing to RGB-CVBS converter D.

The bonding surfaces must be clean and free of grease.

Affix adhesive tape AA to the back of the RGB-CVBS converter D.

Cars without DVD System Advanced or without SA6FA only

Remove holder (1) and replace with holder N.

6.

The bonding surfaces must be clean and free of grease.

Stick RGB-CVBS converter D to holder N.

Use hexagonal nut M to secure RSE interface C to the holder N.

Connect branch A3 (18-pin BL plug casing) to the branch (1), blue 18-pin socket casing, of the RSE interface.

Only for cars with Advanced DVD system Release AV switcher (1) from the stud bolts (2).

Screw spacer bolts H onto stud bolts (2).

Undo power supply unit (3).

The bonding surfaces must be clean and free of grease.

Stick RGB-CVBS converter D to holder (1).

Stick sealing strips J between the spacing bolts H on the RGB-CVBS converter D.

Secure RSE-Interface C to holder (1) using spacer bolts H.

Connect branch A3 , 18-pin BL plug casing) to the branch (2), blue 18-pin socket casing, of the RSE interface.

Secure power supply unit (1) using original nut (2) above the RSE interface C on the spacer bolts H.

Secure AV switcher (3) using original nuts (4) above the RGB-CVBS converter on the spacer bolts H.

6.

Cars with video module only

Disconnect the blue plug X18804 from the video module (1).

Connect branch A15 ,black 18-pin socket casing, to video module (1).

Connect branch A14, black 18-pin socket casing, to connector X18804.

For cars without video module only

Disconnect blue plug X1313 on the navigation computer (1).

Connect branch A15 ,black 18-pin socket casing, to navigation computer (1).

Connect branch A14, black 18-pin socket casing, to connector X1313.

Install the navigation computer (1).

All cars

Tie back branch A4, black 18-pin plug, using cable tie E to the vehicle wiring harness.

Connect branch A13, black 18-pin SW socket casing, to the audio switcher B.

Secure the audio switcher B to the standard wiring harness using cable tie E.

Tie back all loose cables using cable ties E.

Country-specific setting: If national law determines that the picture may only be displayed if the hand-

brake is applied when the engine is running, the cable on branch A11 must be removed from PIN 1 and inserted in

PIN 2.

Tie back branches A11 and A12 with cable tie E to cable harness.
