(Only for use within the BMW dealer organisation).
Installation time approx. 1 hour.
The installation times may vary depending on the condition of the car and the equipment in it.

Target group

The target group for these installation instructions is staff who have been trained on BMW cars.
Work
All servicing, repair, installation and adjustment work on cars is completed at your own risk.
All work is to be completed using the latest BMW
– Repair instructions, – Circuit diagrams,
– Service manuals, – Work instructions,
– Diagnostics manuals,
in a rational sequence using the prescribed tools (special tools) and pursuant to the relevant health and safety
regulations.

Gluing instructions
Please read the following before starting the installation work:

Important
The screen sealing rubber is to be sprayed with lubricant (for example silicon spray) before installing the aerial cable.
All surfaces must be clan and dry (clean with conventional cleaning products and finish with a lint-free cleaning cloth).
Do not use nitro thinners or paint thinners in any circumstances.
Leave the cleaning product to air for approx. 1 minute.
Heat the car roof to approx. body temperature (max. 60° C). Never glue the group aerial on to a misted or damp
roof skin.
After removing the backing foil, do not touch the adhesive surface or the cleaned area of the car roof skin.
Press down the group aerial with a minimum pressure of approx. 10 N/cm2 using your thumb in a circular motion
around the adhesive tape (strong thumb pressure is approx. 50 N/cm2).
When the group aerial has been pressed into position on the roof skin, it will no longer be possible to move it.
No stress must be applied to the group aerial for 12 hours after it has been glued (for example do not take the car
through a car wash).
If the car is repainted, the group aerial may be exposed to a temperature max. 90° C in a paint chamber for a
maximum of 30 minutes.

Lay the aerial cable so that it cannot be kinked, chafed or crushed.
The rubber seal around the rear screen must be fully in contact with the body after the aerial cable has been installed. If necessary, the rear screen rubber is to be sealed using conventional sealant and the sealing stopper for the cable passage is to be inserted after being coated with silicon sealant.
