BMW Installation Instructions
All work is shown here on a LHD model. On RHD models some operations will be symmetrically opposite.
Disconnect earth wire at the battery.
Connect additional wiring loom (1) to existing terminal strip (2) at front left near battery so that colours match.
Route additional wiring along existing loom through front partition and secure with the existing clips.
Route short wire to left and long wire to right to the bumper brackets.
Secure wiring with cable binders to the brackets.

1 = Bolt
2 = Spring washers

4 = Spacer (large)
5 = Spring washers
6 = Spacer (small)
7 = Spring washer
8 = Nut
9 = Lamp housing
Take reflector off housing.
Install additional wiring in housing.
Install bulb in reflector and connect wires to terminal strip.
Caution! Do not touch Halogen bulb with the bare fingers.
Connect additional loom (1) and earth wire (2) to reflector. Attach reflector to housing.
Install fog lamp relay (1) and if not already fitted – two 8 Amp. fuses in the carrier plate.
Remove screws (1 … 6) and take trim panel off.
If electric windows are fitted, pull wires off automatic fuses.
Wire (1) = green/red, wire
(2) = red and wire
(3) = red/white.
Remove blank switch. Expose existing wires (three connectors) and route them to the fog lamp switch opening.
Attach wires to fog lamp switch.
Brown Install switch.
Connect battery earth wire. Switch ignition and driving lamps on. Operate fog lamp switch, the yellow warning lamp in transparent switch button and the fog lamps should come on. The fog lamps should only be on together with the low beams. When high beams are switch on the fog lamps should go out. Install all parts which were removed.
Check tyre pressures and rectify if necessary. Place vehicle on a level surface and load with 70 kg (one person) in the centre of the rear seat. Adjust fog lamps with an optical setting applicance in accordance with the instructions of the appliance manufacturer.
