Unscrew the bolt.

Raise the seat, disengage it from the holder and remove.

Only on cars with individual rear seats: Unscrew the bolt.

Push up the seat back and remove.

Take out the luggage compartment f loor mat.

Release the rear bulkhead trim from the plates at the top and bottom.

Remove the clips (1, 2) and take out the trim.

Unclip and bend back the tank vent lines to avoid damag­ ing them when cutting the rear bulkhead.

Mark the centreline and distance A from the top edge on the trim and place the template in position. Mark out the cutout and remove it with the pneumatic or electric pierc­ ing saw.

A = 60 mm

Note: it may be necessary to extend the cutout by 5 mm at the top.

Roll up the fleece mat in the seat recess.

Mark out the centreline (centre of swage-line) and the distance indicated. Offer up the template and centre­ punch the holes for the retaining angle. Detach the corners of the template and mark out the cutout.

Cut the rear bulkhead along the marked-out lines with the pneumatic or electric piercing saw. Deburr the edges. Drill and deburr 6.5 mm holes for the retaining angle. Remove an 8 mm width of noise insulating ma­ terial at the rear bulkhead around the cutout for the edge protection. Coat the panel around the cutout and the holes with zinc powder paint.

Important: remove metal swarf to prevent corrosion.

Cut out the fleece mat in the area of the hole with a carpet knife.

Attach sheet-metal nuts to retaining angle (1).

Secure the retaining angle with 4.8 x 13 mm self-tapping screws, but do not tighten fully.

Attach edge protection (2).

Place the cassette frame on the loosely tightened retain­ ing angle, engage it at the top and push it up as far as it will go together with the retaining angle.

Fully tighten the retaining angle.

Check that the cassette frame is firmly seated.

Unscrew the bolts at centre armrest end-piece (1).

Lift the plastic cover sheet of f the hooks and remove. (Illustrated: luxury version with individual rear seats.)

Unscrew the 10 mm hex bolts and take of f the armrest scissors mechanism and the armrest.

Unscrew the armrest. (Illustrated: version with one-piece rear seat.)

Cut of f the cover in a straight line. Attach the top section of the burr fastener strip (200 mm long) with adhesive and also secure it with staples.

Note treat the adhesive with an activating agent, e.g. acetone (apply a generous coat with a small brush).

Screw the fittings to the armrest at left and right.

Detach the bottom angle section with retaining plate (1).

Centre-punch, drill and deburr the holes in the angle section and seat frame according to the drawing.

Coat the holes with zinc powder paint.

Screw angle section (1) with connecting plate (2) to seat frame (3).

Screw stay (1) to the side sections of armrest mounting (2).

One-piece rear seat back:

Screw on the armrest mounting. The lowest holes in the seat frame are used in each case.

Attach the bottom section of the burr fastener strip (200 mm long) at the top with adhesive.

Only on cars with individual rear seats:

Attach retaining angle (1) to end piece (2). Install the rear seat back and secure it with the bolts.

Note: secure the retaining angle with the 6.3 mm self­ tapping screw provided.

Re-install the rear seat. Fold down the armrest by 30° and insert it.

Secure the cover with burr fastener strip at the top. Install the bulkhead trim.

Attach the loading edge cover sheets as marked:

1 – cover sheet for centre rear tnim

2 – cover sheet for side rear trim

Operating instructions:

Release the burr fastening on the cover.

Fold down the armrest by app. 30° and lift it out (the arm­ rest can only be removed in this position!).

Disengage plastic holder (1) at top and fold it forwards. Operate release (2) and secure the flap to the rear window shelf with the magnet.

Roll out the ski bag into the vehicle interior.

Load skis from the trunk. It can be stowed maximum:

– 2 pairs of skis 210 cm long

General notes:

Free skis from stealing ice and snow. Invite skiers in pairs with the ski tips to the front. Clean ski bag from time to time to prevent water from accumulating.
