12. Notes on operation

Any driving speed above approx. 45 km/h (28 mph) can be held constant and memorised.

Move the lever towards position 1 – Accelerate

The car’s road speed is maintained and the value memoris ed. If the lever is held in this position, the car will accelerate without the accelerator pedal being depressed. As soon as the lever is released, the speed then reached is maintained and memorised. After the accelerator has been pressed down, e. g. when overtaking, the car returns to the memoris ed speed.

Move the lever towards position 2 – Decelerate

F 32 65 297

The car’s road speed is maintained and memorised. If the lever is held in this position, the car will slow down (throttle closed automatically). The speed reached when the lever is released is then maintained and memorised.

Move the lever towards position 3 – Resume

The previously memorised speed is resumed and main tained.

Switching off the cruise control:

To switch off the cruise control:

Move the lever towards position 4 – Off

The cruise control system is switched off regardless of momentary operating or traffic conditions.

The system is also switched off if the rate of deceleration ex ceeds 1.5 m/s2 , e. g. on uphill gradients, and also when the brake or clutch pedal is depressed or the automatic transmission lever is moved from D to N.

To cancel a stored speed:

Turn the ignition key to position 1 when the car is at a standstill.
