BMW Installation Instructions
Specialised knowledge is required.
Installation time is approx. 1 to 2 hours, though this may vary according to condition and fittings of vehicle.
Instructions and illustrations are given for left-hand drive models. For right-hand drive models, work stages may have to be carried out in mirror-image fashion.
Drillings should be removed completely, bore holes burred and inorganic zinc applied.
All inflammable objects must be removed before welding. Parts which may be damaged by welding sparks should be either covered or removed.
Newly installed metal parts and areas impaired as a result of welding (new cavities, seams, grooves etc.) must be sealed with a BMW-approved preservative.
