BMW Installation Instructions

Stereo System 1 BMW 3 Series E36/2, /4 and /C

Specialised knowledge is required.

Installation time is approx. 4.5 hours, though this may vary depending on the condition of the vehicle and its fittings.

General information

Instructions and illustrations are given for left-hand drive models. Certain work steps must be carried out in mirror-image fashion for right-hand drive models.

In order to prevent electrical interference, always keep to the precise wiring paths in the vehicle.

Never use “Scotchlock” quick connectors as these could interfere with the vehicle electrical system!

When laying cable in the vehicle, make sure that it is not crushed, wound up or otherwise damaged. Malfunctions might otherwise occur, the subsequent rectification of which can involve extensive work. The costs generated in such a case cannot be reimbursed by BMW!

Check the designated installation position before starting work.

Use only installation parts approved by BMW.

Items marked with an asterisk (*) depend on the equipment of the vehicle and are only fitted as standard in certain models and on certain national markets, or are available as optional extras or special equipment.

These installation instructions are subject to technical alterations!
