Notes on safety

The permitted roof load of 75 kg may not be exceeded.

(Weight of both carriers 3.7 kg plus superstructure plw: actual load)

Mounting is to be carried out in accordance with the fitting instructions.

Note that the vehicle handling changes according to the load being transported.

As far as possible avoid sudden braking, acceleration from rest and fast cornering.

When a load is being transported on the roof, speed has to be adjusted to actual conditions such as state of the roads, road surface, cross-wind conditions, general traffic conditions, etc. We recommend the advisory speed.

Country-specific regulations are to be observed.

Before each journey all screw fittings and connections on the basic carrier and superstructure are to be checked to make sure they are firmly seated and should be tightened as necessary.

Distribute pieces of luggage evenly, keep the centre of gravity as low as possible and secure transported iitems with suitable straps to stop them from slipping.

The legal regulations for motor vehicle construction and use are to be complied with for roof transportation.

When not in use, the roof carriers should be removed from the vehicle for reasons of fuel economy and the safety of other road users.

Do not go through the car wash with the base carriers mounted.

General notes

For all fitting work please use the supplied spherical socket-head angle screw key.

Before the first fitting, a basic adjustment of the roof rack must be made so as to adjust the support legs to the vehicle width.

If the mounting is done wrongly, damage to the vehicle is possible.

To make the mounting of the crossbeam carriers easier, it should be done with the help of another person.

1. Basic adjustment of the carriers

The basic adjustment is illustrated for the forward carrier. The working steps must be carried out in the same sequence for the rear carrier.
