F 35 84 117 B
Mark position of hole with water-soluble marker. Mark hole (1) in centre of vehicle to dimension (2).
The reference line for dimension (2) is the edge of the
roof with respect to the boot/trunk lid. Dimension 2 = 130 mm
Pre-drill hole (1) with 3 mm a twist drill.
Check hole (1) from boot/trunk (on 3 Series touring E36/3 , the hole (1) must be flush centred with respect to the opening in the intermediate panel) .
Drill out checked hole to 18.5 mm a with step drill. Deburr hole (1) and treat with anticorrosion paint in accordance with BMW specification.
Completely remove metal chips with compressed air (wear safety goggles!).
4. Mounting Antenna Base Only 3 Series touring (E36/3)
F 36 84 122 B
Fit rubber grommet (1) on antenna cable (2) such that the raised side faces in the direction of antenna base (3).
Plug together antenna base (3) and antenna cable (2). Adhere anti-rattle guard (4) from the antenna base over a length of 11O cm.
Fahrtrichtung = Forward direction
F 36 84 120 B
Fit antenna cable loop (1) to the left in the area between the roof skin panel and inner panel.
Carefully fit antenna base (2) in hole (3) (make sure the antenna cable is not bent too much).
Hold antenna base from below.
Fit seal (4) and mount retaining ring (5) .
Lightly screw on antenna nut (6) together with rubber ring (7).
Turn antenna base (2) with antenna cable connection to the left and firmly tighten with 20 mm open-ended spanner (tightening torque 4 Nm).
Firmly tighten antenna (8) with mounting tool (9) (tightening torque 2 Nm). Fit rubber grommet (10) such that antenna cable coupling (11) remains in the intermediate panel and the antenna cable (12) emerges running towards the left.
5. Installing Antenna Cable Only 3 Series touring (E36/3)
F 36 84 119 B
